Picture of the Month - January 2012

Dear readers,
Assalamu Alaykum

I thought it would be nice to put pictures up on a monthly basis of things which have caught my eye on the internet or things which I have taken photos of myself (Deen related obviously). Sometimes, reading and writing can get tiresome.

The following picture caught my eye and brought about a few chuckles, may it make you smile also. Ameen.

Caption: The above is a Indo-Pak tajweed lesson!

Tajweed should be learnt properly and we should always try to recite it in the manner it was revealed. As one of my respected teachers once said, "The hadith tells us to recite the Qur'an in 'lisaanul 'arab' (the tongue of the Arabs) and not in lisaanul punjab (the tongue of the Punjabis)".

We should try our best to read the Qur'an in the correct way; the main objective is to try. A person who is studying hard to learn tajweed but still cannot get to grips with it is rewarded double in comparison to the person who knows how to read the Qur'an. The aim is to try; not to just read it in any old fashion and if you cannot read it properly despite your hardships then despair not, for Allah Ta'ala will still reward you.

May Allah Ta'ala give us the ability to fulfill the rights of the Qur'an. Ameen.
